Grounded Ginger x CocoCoast: Why Coconut Water Is Non-Negotiable in Our Family

At our Grounded Family Villa, tucked away in the lush Sunshine Coast hinterland, coconut water isn’t just a refreshing drink, it’s part of the lifestyle.

Whether we’ve just come out of a cold plunge, had a solid sweat in the sauna, or the boys are tearing around barefoot and full of bananas or mandarins, there’s always a bottle of CocoCoast within reach.

We started giving our three boys coconut water from a young age. For us, it’s about raising a generation that reaches for the good stuff, hydration that actually supports the body. To this day, it’s the only “sweet drink” you’ll find in our fridge.

No sugary processed chaos, just clean, natural hydration straight from the source. And if you’re someone who still craves the fizz, CocoCoast has a range of lightly sparkling options to scratch that itch, without the nasties.

As the founder of Grounded Ginger, my personal brand, I share my journey through wellness and cold exposure, teaching all walks of life how to make cold plunging safe, affordable, and easy to do at home.

My bread and butter (or should I say, coconut with a hint of ginger) is showing people how to convert a chest freezer into their own DIY Ice Bath. And yep, it’s totally safe, if you follow my method.

As an accredited Cold Exposure Guide, safety and education are at the core of what I do. I’ve now guided over 10,000 humans through building their own ice bath setups and learning how to practice cold exposure in a way that’s not just safe, but truly transformative.

One of the biggest things I teach? Hydration is non-negotiable.

After a proper contrast therapy session (Cold & Heat Exposure Combo), you lose minerals, and electrolytes. Replenishing with the right stuff matters. And for us, CocoCoast is the go-to. It’s pure, smooth, and real. You can feel the difference instantly. And with so many real fruit flavours, there’s something for every taste.

Now, my favourite? Ginger.

Not just because of the red curly hair or my 3 Ginger Lads (though, let’s be honest, it fits), but because it’s hands-down the most refreshing drink I’ve ever had. That Ginger zing with the chilled coconut… it hits the spot every single time.

I’m also a fan of the Natural Coconut flavour, because I can put my own twist on it. Scroll down for my go-to hydration recipe.

As for the rest of the fam?

Our boys are mixing it up with Chocolate, Watermelon, and yep… Ginger. My wife, Katrina, is all about Passionfruit and Lychee. It’s become a bit of a ritual in our home and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Here’s what I sip on for a simple but powerful way to rehydrate and recharge, whether it’s after an Icy Plunge, a Sauna, or just a hot day in the Aussie sun:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bottle of chilled CocoCoast Natural Coconut Water
  • A squeeze of fresh organic lime (Vitamin C boost – straight from our backyard tree)
  • A pinch of organic Celtic sea salt (to replenish minerals)

That’s it.

Clean, simple, effective.

I trust you got some value from my CocoCoast Journey so far.

If you’re looking to level up your cold exposure game, build your own DIY Ice Bath using a chest freezer, practice cold exposure safely or just want to treat yourself to a wellness getaway at our Grounded Villa (This isn’t just an Airbnb, it’s your little wellness reset, and yep, there’ll be plenty of CocoCoast in the fridge).

Check out what we’ve got on offer at www.groundedginger.com.au

Stay Icy and of course, hydrated.
